I’m Nicole — an intentional photographer with a love for moody light, real emotion, and honest connection. I work with couples and families across Connecticut and New England to create images that feel like them — never forced, always personal.

When you invite me in—whether it’s to photograph your wedding, your family, or just you two being yourselves—I’m not running through a checklist of poses. I won’t tell you to smile at the camera on cue. I won’t ask your toddler to sit still. And I definitely won’t pose your baby in a basket.


In a world full of polished, predictable images, I’m drawn to what’s real. The overlooked moments. The parts of the day that don’t scream for attention but somehow say the most.


With an artistic, documentary approach, I’ll guide you when needed—but I mostly let the moment unfold. The result? Honest, atmospheric images that feel like you—unfiltered, unscripted, and fully present.

For me, intentional portrait photography is about more than just capturing a face—it's about conveying deep emotion. I carefully consider every detail, from the lighting to the composition, to reflect the subject's personality and mood. My background in film has heavily influenced the way I shoot, leading me to focus on elements like composition, lighting, color, and form. You might notice creative touches like interesting cropping or double exposures, all designed to bring out the unique story of each person.   Each session begins with a blank canvas, creating a relaxed space where there’s no pressure to pose or look a certain way. The most genuine moments happen naturally, without overthinking. Whether we’re sharing a laugh, chatting about life, or simply enjoying a quiet moment, my goal is to help you feel completely at ease.

I know being in front of the camera can feel awkward, but with me, it won’t. You’ll never have to wonder what to do with your hands or feel stuck in a photoshoot. My approach is all about making you feel comfortable, so your portraits come out natural, effortless, and true to who you are. No stiff poses—just honest, real images. And if you’re feeling a little nervous at first, don’t worry—I’ve got a few tricks to help break the ice.
