What It’s Actually Like

01

Intentional

It goes beyond pointing and shooting. I’m paying attention to your relationship — how you move together, how you settle into each other. Of course I’m thinking about light and composition. That part is second nature. But sometimes I just notice something strange or beautiful and capture it before it disappears. I’m not running through a checklist of poses. You won’t feel rushed. You won’t feel stiff. I’ll guide you when it’s helpful and step back when it’s not.

02

Natural

Being in front of a camera can feel unfamiliar. That’s normal. You won’t be left wondering what to do. I’ll give clear direction when it helps, and I’ll never force a pose that doesn’t feel like you. When you’re comfortable, everything settles. That’s when the photographs start to feel honest.

03

Steady

Whether you’re planning a wedding or navigating life with kids, there’s a lot going on. I’m here to make sure photography feels like the easy part. You’re never just another date on my calendar. I’ll answer your questions, help you prepare, and check in along the way so you can focus on being present — knowing your memories are handled with care.

04

Honest

When you’re not thinking about the camera, you look like yourself. Movement becomes natural. Expressions last longer than a split second. You settle into yourselves instead of trying to get it “right.” and that’s the version worth documenting.

FAQ

How is your approach different?

A lot of portrait photography follows a formula — beautiful, but often predictable. I pay attention to what most people overlook. The details that don’t announce themselves. The way you settle into each other. The shifts in light. If you’re drawn to something that feels less produced and more personal, we’ll likely be a good fit.

We’re not “photo people"

Most of the couples I photograph tell me this at some point. The good news is — you don’t have to perform. I’m not expecting you to know what to do. I approach sessions quietly and without pressure. We’ll start simple, give you time to settle in, and I’ll guide you when it helps. The best moments usually happen once you forget the camera is even there. You don’t need to be “good at photos.” You just need to show up as yourselves.

Do you help with posing?

I like to give a few gentle directions if that’s okay—maybe guiding you toward the light or into some interesting space so you’re not left wondering what to do with your hands. Try not to pose or stare at the camera unless I ask you to. After that, I step back and let things happen naturally.

How do you handle family portraits?

For weddings, family portraits are built into your timeline so we know the groupings ahead of time and aren’t scrambling. This part of the day usually moves quickly—around 20–25 minutes—so we can capture everyone naturally without taking away from the rest of your wedding.

How many images will we receive?

I typically deliver around 40–60 images per hour of coverage. Weddings and newborn sessions often result in more. Rather than focusing on a strict number, I prioritize delivering a gallery that fully tells the story — without duplicates or filler.

How do we book?

Start by filling out the contact form. I’ll respond within a day or two. We’ll connect briefly to make sure it feels like a good fit. To secure your date, a signed contract and 40% retainer are required.

Do you offer prints and albums?

Yes. Prints can be ordered directly through your private gallery. I work with professional labs to ensure the quality reflects the work — true tones, rich depth, and lasting materials. Albums are custom designed by me. You’ll review a full proof and can request adjustments until it feels right. They’re thoughtfully made, with layflat pages and timeless cover options — meant to be held, not stored on a hard drive.

Do you travel?

Yes. I work locally and take on select destination sessions. Travel fees vary by location and are discussed prior to booking.

What equipment do you use?

I photograph with professional Canon mirrorless cameras and a range of lenses suited to different lighting and environments. I always work with two camera bodies for reliability and backup. I also incorporate both digital and film — including 35mm and medium format — when it complements the setting and feel of the day. The gear matters, but more importantly, it’s how it’s used.

What is your turnaround time?

Galleries are typically delivered within 2–4 weeks.
